King Herod feared rejection. Many of us can relate to that. This message outlines five areas that are affected by our fear: manipulation by others; conforming to peer pressure; failing to follow the truth; being unable to give or receive love; being silenced from sharing Jesus Christ with others. So many times our desire to win the approval of others makes us fail to please God. There are ways to overcome making the wrong choice. We must put God first and allow Him to be the light in our life. He will illuminate, protect and energize us. Second we must put people's opinions in the right perspective. and thirdly we must put ourselves in the proper place. We need to simplify our lives by concentrating on God's approval and by doing so we will gain a confidence that cannot be shaken.
King Herod was an important man during the time of Jesus. Although he held great power and had immense stature in the region of Galilee, he surrendered to the influence of the masses. He was afraid of rejection and so gave in to the mob.
